Elder Board: During the summer our Bible Study and Prayer Meetings will be on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm. We are scheduling monthly congregational potlucks after the morning service throughout the summer. Pastor Dan’s summertime messages will be on the theme ‘The Church – Imagine That!’ featuring seven images the NT creates to describe what the Church is, and ought to be on earth. We will be enjoying a number of guest speakers as well. The Elder & Trustee Boards are busy working on congregational transition issues. We will report on progress.
Summer Schedule: Sunday School, Kid’s Club, Women of Grace, and Choir are in recess Memorial Day to Labor Day. Youth have special activities. Worship Services are at 10:30 am (not at 10:00 as was previously announced). Watch for special events.
In the Community:
- Bible Camp: Grace joins Maple Park providing after evening service cookies on Tuesday night, and presenting the Children’s Theatre on Thursday evening.
- July 2 is the PNW Region Convention.
- CLBA National Women’s Ministries Convention is at Tuscarora Inn in PA. June 24-26.
- Thrivent is sponsoring a night at the Aquasox July 15, 5:30 pm. $10 reserved seats ticket includes BBQ dinner, game, and fireworks. Sign up in May. Payment is due by June 25th.

- Kris Kraakmo is returning to Japan May 12th to continue his ministry.
- Al & Goldie Foss sold their house and will be moving to Colfax in June.

Parish Board: We determined that due to circumstances it would be unwise to attempt hosting a VBS this summer. We would like to enjoy an Alderwood Derby and BBQ, possibly in August.
Women of Grace will conclude a wonderful year of ministry on June 6th with lunch at the Claim Jumper. All women are invited whether or not you have been part of the group during the year.

- John Pinney graduates from his Job Corp program on March 18. Congratulations!
- Clayton Pinney has moved to Everett.
- We gratefully welcomed Helga Boge into membership at Grace.
- The Holmers and Buckleys are on extended sun breaks but promise to return when all that nice weather gets boring.

Benevolence Committee: The Everett Gospel Mission Women’s and Children’s Shelter send a big thank you to Grace for our Valentine toiletries gift.
Elder Board: ‘Hallelujah. What a Savior!’ is our theme for Lent. On Wednesday evenings we will be focusing on the Biblical dynamics of a local Church congregation centered in Jesus Christ, and join in a season of spontaneous prayer. On Sundays we will meditate on how Jesus revealed His salvation to several diverse characters from the Gospel of John.
In the Community
- ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ Seattle Children’s Chorus in concert, March 19, 4:00 pm at 1st Presbyterian Church, Seattle.
- SCC Camerata Benefit Concert on March 27, 7:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran in Lynnwood.
Hillcrest Choir: We are hosting them on Palm Sunday evening, and in homes overnight. betails will be forthcoming, but we will need a widespread hospitality response.
College & Young Adults: A Bible Study group has begun meeting with fellowship, spiritual growth, and outreach in mind. The schedule is flexible accommodating participant’s availability. If interested, not so young Gary is the man to see.
Kids Club: Wednesday nights at 5:30 the place is hopping with excited kids. Jesica who leads the ministry must take a two month break for personal reasons. Watch for an announcement on the immediate future of the group.

Valentine Treat for the Women’s and Children’s Shelter at the Everett Gospel Mission. We are collecting toiletries to be presented on Valentine’s Day. Details are posted in the Sanctuary.
Sunday School: Watch for special participation in our Lenten services. The youth will sponsor the Easter Breakfast.

Youth: There was Whirly Ball and the Corn Maze. We enjoy weekly Bible Studies. We are assisting in the Christmas Program filming and church decorating. We will have a Christmas Party. Then there is Sunday School with Anna. Who has time to clean their room?
Kid’s Club: We have up to 6 kids, grades K-6 participating enthusiastically. See the sign up sheets to see how you can be involved.
Benevolence Committee:
- We donated a large basketful of socks to Operation Nightwatch’s ‘Sock It to Homelessness’ for distribution to Seattle’s street people.
- 19 of us gleaned 6191 pounds of apples for the Lynnwood Food Bank.
- We are collecting non perishable foods for Everett Gospel Mission, and receiving an offering for Africa Hunger Relief and Economic Development (administered by CLB), at our Thanksgiving HymnSing.
- We have given financial assistance in emergency situations
Elder & Trustee Boards: Grace offers several adult fellowship ministry opportunities on a regular basis: Women of Grace, Men’s Prayer Breakfast, and the Wednesday Evening Prayer Meeting and Bible Study.
Sunday School:
- We have begun Christmas Program preparation with filming events in October and November. The program is scheduled for Sunday, December 12, 6:00 pm.
- The adult class on ‘Becoming Who You Are’, a study in Ephesians, is generating considerable thoughtful discussion. You are welcome to join the fun and inspiration any time.
In the Community:
- Thanksgiving Singspiration at Anchor of Hope Church in Stanwood. Sunday, November 14, 5:00 pm. Details are posted on the front door.

Apple Gleaning near Quincy is scheduled for October 23rd. We glean in the morning and enjoy lunch together in Leavenworth. The apples are donated to the Lynnwood Food Bank (10,000 lbs last year), and we are welcome to gather some for ourselves as well. Collection baskets are provided by the food bank, boxes are available for private use. This is a great family event. Sign up if you are going. Ken Johnson has details.

Youth: Our first special event will be Pumpkin Carving and the Corn Maze on October 30th. Details are still in the works.
Women of Grace begin a new ministry year on Monday, October 4, 10:00 am.
Kid’s Club has gotten off to an encouraging start. You can have a part in this exciting ministry to kids K-6th grades. See Jesica or the sign ups by the mailboxes.
District Women’s Retreat will be held October 9-10. Information and registration forms are available on the Information Table.
Benevolence Committee:

- Mindy Kim will share about her mission to Uzbekistan with a power point presentation during the worship service on October 10.
- The Planning Council meeting on October 9 includes all those who lead boards and ministries at Grace (or their chosen representatives). It is important that we have a full representation in making future plans.
- Concert of Prayer & Communion Service, October 10. The Bible contains so many promises to a church gathered in Jesus’ name in prayer.

Sunday School began with a great Rally Day and Picnic. The adult class has been a full house in the library. There is a place for you!
Prayer Notes
We praise the Lord for:
- The gift of Joe Plachta and the assurance we will meet again through faith in Jesus.
- Safe and refreshing travels for many during the summer.
We ask the Father for:
- Comfort for those who mourn the loss of family members.
- Healing of marriages and families.
- Our partners in ministry: Andrew and Kris in Taiwan, Kris in Japan, and Bob & Katrine in Stanwood.
- The fruitfulness of our website ministry in the community and beyond.
- His blessing on the ministry of the Jesus Fellowship Church.
- God’s blessing on the ministry of our congregation as each of us seeks to be His person in our individual worlds.
- The Spirit’s presence with our ministries restarting in the fall: Kid’s Club under Jesica’s direction, Sunday School led by Linda and Lynn, Youth, Women of Grace, and Choir.
- His guiding presence with Drew, Jamie, Michael, Lindy, and Stephen in their college experience.

Elder Board: Wednesday evening Bible Study and Prayer Meetings at 7:00, will feature land of the Bible DVD series with Ray Vander Laan, ‘That the World May Know’. These are the as yet unseen 20 minute presentations, shot on location with outstanding Bible application, that we have enjoyed in Sunday School.
Pastor Dan will be on vacation July 26-August 6. Pastor Dale Carlson will speak on August 1.
Worship attendance averaged 79 in June (77 last year), and 77 year to date (75 last year).
Youth: ’An Evening in Paris’. We thank the youth and sponsors for a special time!
Watch for announcements about the camp out in August.
Vacation Bible School: July 19-23. How can you be involved? There is a place for everyone! Judy Lazicki and Leanna Kraakmo are people to contact. Be actively recruiting students, ages 3 to 10 years old.
District Men’s and Women’s Retreats will be held September 24-25 and October 9-10 respectively. Information and registration forms are available on the Information Table.
Benevolence Committee: Our mission is to promote and facilitate in and through the congregation the good works in the name of Jesus to which the Church is called. This presently includes sending cards and flowers, emergency assistance, advocacy, ministry to elderly, and various benevolent offerings.
Parish Board: We will be starting a new Kid’s Club in the fall under Jesica Abella’s direction.
Movie Night on August 15 with films & popcorn for children and adults (‘Fireproof’).
In the Community: Thrivent sponsored ‘Treat Your Kids’ to an Aqua Sox game and BBQ. August 20, 5:30 pm. Tickets $10. Details are posted.
Prayer Notes:
• We pray that God will open up a way for us to transport Larry to church.
• We pray for God’s continued healing mercy on Judy Kumma, Naomi and Emma Lazicki, Margun Bates.
• Pastor Bob Hosmer is serving our Stanwood congregation part time. We ask the Father to give him a fruitful ministry in the congregation and his work as a Marketplace Chaplain.
• We ask the Father for Mindy Kim’s health, safety, and effective ministry on her mission to Uzbekistan, and wisdom to use her time effectively in the short time she has left there. (Her reports are placed in the Mission Notebook on the information table.)
• We ask the Father for all the necessary resources required, material and spiritual, to accomplish the task He has given us. We are asking for partners in the use of our facility and wisdom in using what we have been given.
• Andrew and Kris Larsen ask prayer for openness to the gospel for Mr. Zhap and Mrs. Juhn. Pray for stamina to endure the hot and humid summer months in Taiwan.
• May God bless Emilee and Ryan as they prepare for their wedding and life together.
• We ask the Father to bless our VBS preparations, and recruitment of staff and children.
• May the Father bless the ministry of the Jesus Fellowship Church.
• Growing old can be very difficult in body, mind, and spirit. Remember especially in your prayers and contacts, Erling, Gudrun, Vi, and any others in our congregation who can’t join us because they are suffering age related disability.
• May God bless the ministry of our congregation as each of us seeks to be His person in our individual worlds.
• Kris Kraakmo is leaving for his Japan mission this week. We pray for God to cover him with His grace and give him a fruitful ministry and good working relations with the congregation whose ministry he supports.
• We pray for the Spirit’s guidance for Kim and Jesica as they pursue a fall start up for MOPS and Kid’s Club ministries.
• May the Lord comfort John and Lorna in the death of Samantha, and work His wonders of grace in mother Nicole.

Elder and Trustee Boards:
- Congregational Annual Meetings are always important. Our 13th is no less so. We encourage all our members to participate.
- Our summer schedule extends from Memorial Day to Labor Day weekends. Worship starts at 10:00 am. Sunday School, Women of Grace, Fellowship Groups, Choir, MOPS, and weekly Youth meetings are in recess. Watch for special summer activities.
MOPS continues to enjoy an encouraging ‘trial run’ attendance. The mothers, children, and staff are having a great time.
